He didn’t put it in
quite those terms, of course, but he might just as well have done so. The
reduced number of Tory MPs left after the election earlier this month means
that more
than 40% of them now have shadow minister responsibilities, and the group
is so short of talent, in Sunak’s eyes at least, that some of them have been
given two or even three shadow jobs. It's a pretty damning indictment of the
nearly 60% who have not been given jobs at all.
