Unfortunately the public is generally more impressed with celebrity than with expertise and credibility.<br />Their celebrity status also enables detractors to use the hypocrisies of these celebrities to argue against actions to combat climate change that they don't like. In effect claiming to win points by playing the man and not the ball.
